Job Description

Brief TORs:

  • Provide technical and overall coordination of the FGD activity, ensuring adherence to the discussion guide and ethical requirements.
  • Support training of the FGD facilitators and provide background on the Thrive by Five project for their familiarization.
  • Coordinate participant mobilization and session scheduling with the two local partners.
  • Facilitate inclusive, neutral, and well-structured discussions, using appropriate probing techniques to generate comprehensive qualitative data.
  • Supervise note-taking, audio recording, informed-consent procedures, and secure handling of all session documentation and data.
  • Conduct post-session debriefs and quality assurance reviews to verify data completeness and accuracy for timely submission of field outputs.
  • Support and troubleshoot any emerging issues from the field during the activity.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • At least three years of demonstrable professional experience in community-level health promotion, health facility–level service delivery, and/or collection and analysis of data from health service providers and caregivers.
  • Prior experience in collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data is essential.
  • Sound understanding of the structure of the health system in Kenya and the way in which health services are implemented at health facility and community levels.
  • Ability to work with various technologies (computers, mobile phones, etc.) and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills in English. Fluency in Dholuo is essential.
