Job Summary

  • Pearl Hospital is a Level 4 multi-specialty hospital in Laikipia County. Guided by our values of Quality, Efficiency, Professionalism, and Compassion, we are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide safe, efficient, and patient-centered nursing care. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care and excellent service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with established clinical standards.
  • Assess patients, monitor vital signs, and promptly report changes in their condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Assist doctors and other healthcare professionals during procedures and examinations.
  • Prepare patients for investigations, procedures, admission, and discharge.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and nursing documentation.
  • Observe and implement infection prevention and control measures.
  • Educate patients and their relatives on treatment, medication, health promotion, and discharge instructions.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and provide immediate nursing interventions.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and accountability of medications and medical supplies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional nursing ethics.
  • Participate in ward rounds, handovers, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Ensure the nursing station and patient care areas are clean, safe, and well organised.
  • Provide compassionate care and maintain a positive patient experience.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Nurse in Charge or management.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution.
  • Valid registration and practising licence with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification will be an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience will be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of nursing procedures, infection prevention, and patient safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
