<p><strong>Job Purpose</strong></p>

<li>We are seeking a Director, Franchise Operations, to serve as the End‑to‑End Orchestrator for the Franchise Operations team and a senior leader in partnership with our bottling partner(s). This role operates horizontally across the Franchise and system, ensuring strong alignment across Commercial, Marketing, RGM, Finance, Supply Chain, and Insights.</li>
<li>This role serves as the primary integrator for the GM’s commercial agenda, providing leadership oversight, connectivity, and execution discipline across functions and the bottler. The Director is accountable for ensuring priorities are aligned, resources are in place, and plans are translated into consistent results.</li>
<li>This position blends Franchise Operations leadership with enterprise thinking, cross‑functional partnership, and disciplined integration of plans, priorities, and budgets. <li>Co‑lead route‑to‑market improvements and pilots (direct, indirect, micro‑distribution) with the bottler; scale proven models.</li>
<li>Anticipate and mitigate operational, supply, and competitive risks through proactive scenario planning and issue resolution.</li>

<p><strong>Franchise Capability &amp; Ways of Working</strong></p>

<li>Act as a senior capability leader for the Franchise team, strengthening end‑to‑end thinking, execution management, and cross‑functional collaboration</li>

<p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Requirements:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, or related field required</li>
<li>12+ years of CPG experience in sales, commercial operations, franchise, or trade marketing; experience partnering with bottlers is a strong plus.</li>
<li>Proven track record delivering near-term commercial results while building longer-term capabilities with cross-functional teams.</li>
<li>Strong analytical skills and comfort with multiple data sources (e.g., NielsenIQ, Kantar, sell-in/sell-out, cooler telemetry/IoT, footfall/mobility, geospatial &amp; sociodemographic); demonstrated ability to source new data when needed.</li>
<li>Fluency in BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and advanced Excel; SQL/Python are a plus but not required.</li>
<li>Ability to influence without direct authority, manage senior stakeholders across cultures, and communicate insights simply and persuasively.</li>
<li>Understanding of local market dynamics.</li>
<li>Willingness to travel as required to support franchise team and partner engagement.</li>

<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p>

<li>The Sales Manager – Alternative Channels will be responsible for developing, managing, and growing strategic partnerships across Alternative Distribution Channels, including Microfinance Institutions (MFIs), Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (Saccos), professional associations, affinity groups, aggregators, fintechs, and other strategic partners. The role will drive sustainable revenue growth by identifying and acquiring new business opportunities, strengthening existing partnerships, and delivering innovative insurance solutions across Life, General Insurance, and Health business lines.</li>
<li>The incumbent will have full accountability for business development, premium growth, profitability, retention, and cross-selling of Life, General Insurance, and Health solutions across the Alternative Channels portfolio. The role will focus on expanding market penetration, growing partner productivity, and maximizing customer value through tailored insurance propositions that meet the needs of partner institutions and their customers.</li>

<p><strong>KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>
<p><strong>Business Development &amp; Sales</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Identify, engage, negotiate, and onboard strategic distribution partners including Microfinance Institutions (MFIs), Saccos, professional associations, affinity groups, aggregators, fintechs, corporates, and other alternative channel partners for the distribution of Life, General Insurance, and Health products</li>
<li>Drive growth of direct business through staff referrals, lead generation initiatives, and strategic partnerships</li>
<li>Develop and execute sales strategies to increase insurance penetration and market share across all assigned alternative channels</li>
<li>Present, pitch, and close insurance solutions for individuals, SMEs, and institutional clients across Life, General Insurance, and Health business lines</li>
<li>Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline to achieve and exceed premium growth, revenue, profitability, and retention targets</li>
<li>Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling across the Old Mutual product portfolio</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Partnership &amp; Relationship Management</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including partner executives, decision-makers, board members, association leaders, and direct clients</li>
<li>Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned partners, ensuring effective engagement, service delivery, and business growth</li>
<li>Conduct regular business reviews with partners to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and address challenges</li>
<li>Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless partner onboarding, implementation, and ongoing support</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Product Development &amp; Market Expansion</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Work closely with Product Development, Underwriting, Claims, Operations, and Marketing teams to design and enhance insurance solutions that meet the needs of alternative channel partners and their customers</li>
<li>Gather market intelligence, customer insights, and competitor information to support product innovation and market expansion</li>
<li>Identify emerging market opportunities and recommend new distribution models, products, and partnerships</li>
<li>Support the rollout and adoption of new products and solutions across alternative distribution channels</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Training, Capacity Building &amp; Partner Enablement</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Develop and deliver training programs for partner staff, intermediaries, and internal teams to improve product knowledge and sales effectiveness</li>
<li>Conduct customer awareness campaigns, financial literacy initiatives, and product education sessions to drive insurance uptake</li>
<li>Support and coordinate staff referral initiatives to enhance direct business acquisition</li>
<li>Provide ongoing coaching and support to partners to improve productivity and customer experience</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Portfolio Management, Compliance &amp; Risk Management</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Manage the profitability, retention, and quality of the alternative channel’s portfolio</li>
<li>Ensure all partnerships, business activities, and sales practices comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance standards</li>
<li>Work closely with Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Claims teams to mitigate operational and business risks</li>
<li>Support claims resolution and service recovery initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and partner confidence</li>
<li>Monitor portfolio performance and recommend corrective actions to improve results</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Performance Management &amp; Reporting</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Track and report on key performance indicators, including premium growth, revenue, profitability, retention, partner productivity, pipeline conversion, and customer satisfaction</li>
<li>Prepare regular business performance reports, market updates, and strategic recommendations for management</li>
<li>Monitor achievement of sales targets and develop action plans to address performance gaps</li>
<li>Provide insights on market trends, competitor activities, and partnership opportunities to support business decision-making</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE</strong></p>
<p><strong>Academic &amp; Professional Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Insurance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field from a recognized institution</li>
<li>Professional insurance qualifications such as AIIK, ACII, Dip CII, or other relevant certifications will be an added advantage</li>
<li>Relevant certifications in sales, relationship management, bancassurance, project management, or business development will be an added advantage</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Experience</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in business development, sales, relationship management, partnership management, or distribution within the insurance, banking, financial services, healthcare, fintech, SACCO, MFI, or related sectors</li>
<li>Proven track record of delivering sales growth, achieving revenue targets, and managing strategic partnerships</li>
<li>Experience in Life Insurance, General Insurance, Health Insurance, or multi-line insurance distribution is highly desirable</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in developing and managing alternative distribution channels, including SACCOs, MFIs, professional associations, affinity groups, aggregators, fintechs, corporates, or direct sales channels</li>
<li>Experience in digital insurance distribution, embedded insurance, platform partnerships, or technology-enabled sales models will be an added advantage</li>
</ul>

<li>Ensure guests have a pleasant and comfortable stay throughout</li>

<li>Supervision of site acquisition agents, providing necessary support, verification, and approval of site acquisition data.</li>

<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>

<li>Academic Degree in Property Management, Project Management, Real Estate, Telecommunications, or a related field. Familiarity with the property management sector is a plus.</li>
<li>1 to 2 or More years of experience. Good English level.</li>
<li>Knowledge in Computer skills (MS Office, digital tools-CRM,&#8230;). in ISO Standards</li>
<li>Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to work onsite or travel. Diligent character and customer-oriented.</li>
<li>Willingness to learn new skills: Quality of project management and implementation plan deliverables, Telecommunication Technologies.</li>

<p>Corporate Communications</p>

<li>Develop and execute DIB Kenya’s corporate communications strategy, covering media, internal audiences, regulators, and corporate stakeholders.</li>

<li>Build, manage, and deepen relationships with key media stakeholders across print, broadcast, online, and trade publications in Kenya and the East Africa region.</li>
<li>Develop a proactive media placement strategy that generates regular, positive coverage of DIB Kenya’s business milestones, Islamic banking education content, and community contributions.</li>

<li>Work closely with HR to design and manage a structured internal communications programme to ensure all employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with DIB Kenya’s strategy, culture, and values.</li>
<li>Develop and distribute the bank’s internal newsletter, leadership messages, town hall facilitation materials, and all-staff communications.</li>
<li>Partner strategically with Human Resources in communicating organisational changes, policy updates, and culture-building initiatives.</li>
<li>Manage internal crisis communications, ensuring staff are informed accurately and promptly during periods of change or uncertainty.</li>

<p>Executive Communications &amp; Thought Leadership</p>
<ul>
<li>Support the CEO and ExCo in building their personal profiles as credible industry leaders through keynote speeches, media appearances, op-eds, and speaking engagements.</li>
<li>Develop a thought leadership calendar that positions DIB Kenya’s leadership at key Islamic finance, banking, and business events in Kenya and across Africa.</li>
<li>Write and edit executive communications including speeches, articles, LinkedIn content, award submissions, and industry commentary.</li>
<li>Prepare briefing notes, media training support, and talking points for all senior leadership external engagements.</li>
</ul>
<p>Reputation Management</p>
<ul>
<li>Develop and maintain DIB Kenya’s reputation management framework, including issues management protocols, crisis communications playbooks, and stakeholder escalation pathways.</li>
<li>Monitor brand sentiment, media narratives, competitor positioning, and public perception, providing regular intelligence reports to the Head of Marketing, Brand &amp; Communications and the CEO.</li>
<li>Lead the bank’s response to reputational risk events, coordinating across Legal, Compliance, HR, and the CEO’s Office.</li>
<li>Ensure all public-facing communications are compliant with Central Bank of Kenya regulations, DIB Group policies, and Islamic banking principles.</li>
